I went on a small backpack with my family last weekend. I’m not sure how many miles it was total, but it was more than 2 miles (it was 2 miles to get to the campground where we stayed, so that isn’t counting the trip back and the additional hikes we did to see sights). I saw a lot of fallen trees and nurse logs. And LOTS of…[Read more]

My mom and I go on three mile walks usually five days a week. It takes us about an hour, and we generally walk the trails by the Puyallup river. One of my favorite things I saw this summer was, on the same day/trail, two mother ducks with a brood of ducklings walking along the path!! I love baby birds, and this experience was so sweet.…[Read more]

#byfoot My sister and I go on walks almost every single day. We usually walk to our library actually. I’m sure all of this adds up to a lot more than two miles. A few other places we walk to our: the high school for swimming, the pharmacy for Popsicles, the park, or the stadium/track. There’s a hill in our neighborhood that shows a great view…[Read more]

I’ve been hiking lately. I went hiking at a waterfall. It was only a two mile hike but it was great. I saw lots of little chimpmunks and birds. The waterfall was awesome it was huge. I loved feeling the mist of the waterfall. I also went hiking at anderson island. I walked up to a lake with my friends. We saw great ocean views. Overall I…[Read more]

    • That does sound like a nice set of trips. If you’ve got pictures, maybe then can show up for another challenge?

  • #byfoot @jumper339 @bettafish The three of us went wogging* at the track. We went around eight times, an equivelant to 2 miles.

*You might not believe this, but “wogging” is a real word. Seriously, it was in my health book. Wogging means a mix between a brisk walk and a jog. …[Read more]

I am not capable of walking 2 miles at a time. I’m in a mobility scooter for long distances, but I would walk if I could. Anyways, my family recently went to the hoh rainforest in port Angeles. I saw moss covered trees, the clearest stream I’ve ever seen, a giant tree that my family (4peoplw) couldn’t reach halfway around,…[Read more]

    • The good thing about the #byfoot badge is that you don’t have to cover all two miles all at once – so if you can only go a few hundred feet at a time here and there, as part of a daily routine or something like that, then that’s okay! Your description is pretty awesome of what you saw in the rainforest, though.

      • I can’t walk even a block at a time, so it would take me a freaking long time to walk 2 miles…

  • #byfoot The other day I walked around the surrounding neighborhoods that are nicer and more nature covered than my own. I walked a little over two miles through the neighborhood and my own. It’s fun to house-watch, and pick out which ones you’d prefer to live in. My favorite was an adorable Bavarian style house that you’d expect to see in…[Read more]

    • Is that because you like living in one or because you think that if you live in a fairy-tale house, you have a higher probability of a fairy tale happening to you?

      • Both, I’d imagine! X)

        • Well, if that ever happens, just be sure to follow the appropriate rituals for not irritating Fae residents, and you’ll have a fine time. (At least until they start angling to replace a kid with a changeling. That usually involves Epic Quests and hashing it out with the nobility of the Fae Court.)

I recently took up running #Outdoors. One of my first runs was on the DuPont Intel grounds. I was with my mom and it was really hot so at one point I ran through the sprinklers! It was all really beautiful and afterwords we ran through the woods outside of Intel. There was a trail behind the company building which was really hilly and…[Read more]

    • Oh, neat – nice that they had the sprinklers on so that you could cool off some. You went this route at some point during the summer (and it’s longer than two miles, right?)
