I went to Fort Steilacoom Park to search for these 2 letterboxes: Washington Territorial Insane Asylum @ Steilacoom Letterbox, and Bob the ”Mato”. And found neither :( I hope to try to find them again soon.

i visited the letterboxes around the pierce county fair. i did not get to do the whole thing on paper like you normally would because i was there for 4-h and i had like only five minuet breaks. #letterbox

  • #letterbox Today I went letterboxing at my Girl Scout Camp. I volunteer and help the younger girls follow the clues to find a box with nail polish in it. Each troop at camp has their own color and since there are ten troops, it’s the perfect amount for fingers. We only got four done today and one of them technically wasn’t hidden yet. (I had to…[Read more]

    • Excellent! Sounds like you and the Guides are having a good time. Will the boxes stay on the campground or move somewhere else so that the public can look at them and stamp in?

      • I’m not sure what happens to them after camp ends, but I think we just get rid of them sadly. :( We do have fun!

        • Ah, that’s too bad. It would be nice if they migrated outside the campground and made it so there were more letterboxes in the area.

letterboxing is ish I like Geocaching alot better in letterboxing there are no coridinates the clues are mostly hard to follow and there just a stamp to motivate you

    • So did you manage to snag any of them along the way? (The clues aren’t too bad – of course, like geocaches, sometimes you follow everything to the letter, only to find out the thing isn’t where the clue says it is…)

  • a cool place to bike is Banner forist in gig harbor #letterbox

I went hiking at Franklin Falls. It is really cool because you take about a mile hike uphill to a huge waterfall. It’s a magnificent hike.

    • Did you go looking for any letterboxes while you were there? The activity requirements say that’s part of your activity as well.

      • I looked around for letterboxes but was unsuccessful. I’m pretty sure there are letterboxes there but I couldn’t find any.

I went on an hour long hike with my 7-month-old Chocolate Lab puppy, Brie. We had a fantastic time traversing a dried out stream that was about 6 1/2 feet deep!

  • #letterbox #learntoplay #arcade I hiked up Green Mountain with my boy scout outpost. It was a 10 mile round trip. I learned how to play Five Card Poker with my friends. I also visited an arcade at Galaxy Theater in Gig Harbor and watched people play games. It was pretty interesting watching people there.

    • Did you find any letterboxes along the way, or hunt for some? You might be confusing #letterbox with #byfoot , which is the activity that requires you to go two miles by foot over the course of the summer.

What kind of Poker was it? Draw, Stud, or some other variation?.

What did you see for games at the arcade there? Anything fun or that was…[Read more]

      • I did another requirement for the Welcome To The Show badge ;and besides, I already got the badge. The card game I learned how to play is kind of like Texas Hold Em’ except you can switch out cards. You can ask to change up to 4 cards unless you have an ace. Then you can change out five. I saw pinball, buckshot and racing games. One of the games…[Read more]

    RE-DO
I took a hike around Redondo and its neighboring neighborhoods. The letter boxes that I found were the mail boxes that were all around the neighborhoods. Usually the letterboxes are where I take my little water breaks. It was a great walk and whenever I pass by the ocean, the breeze feels great:)

    • Yes, I suppose those are letter boxes, but when we’re asking for Letterboxes, we mean something very specific – a hidden treasure, often off the beaten path of a public park or pathway there. Check out the links that are in the activity description for what we mean!

      • uhhh does this still count for me to get my badge??

        • …not quite, no. The letterboxes aren’t that hard to look for – and the thrill is in the hunt, even if you don’t actually get one in the end. But you can probably tag that post with #byfoot , and when you come around to the Free Agent badge, you can use this post for that.

I took a hike around Redondo and its nergboring neighborhoods. It was a great walk and when I walked past the ocean, the breeze felt really nice. I usually jog all the way through and go through 2 extra neighborhoods so it is really great!!
