Your Mid-August update.
Hello again, challengers! It’s been a fun last few weeks (and not just with all the Sports and Games going on over in London), and a lot of movement has been going on in the Leaderboard. Here’s your statistic run-down up to this point:
Last update, at the end of July, we had five people in the 1,000 point club. As of this posting, that treehouse needs an expansion to accommodate the three newest members: @inuyasha4ever @zeileen and @rainholt22 . There are some others within striking distance of that marker, too – a few more Master badges and you’ll have the Fourth Digit as well.
Speaking of joining the club, if you want to be in the group that gets consideration for the iPad at the end of the summer, you’re going to need 535 points or more to make it over the threshold. (That’s 75 points more than before – one extra Master badge could be the difference between getting in and being left out.) By the time we get to the end stage, that number will probably be higher.
And, just as a big thanks from the Grand Master crew to all of you, we’ve been absolutely floored at the amount of participation we’ve received this year. More than 600 accounts have been registered for the Challenge up to this point, and about half of you have put up some points on the Leaderboard. From us to you, thanks for your participation in Teen Summer Challenge this year. We hope that you’ve had a lot of fun completing our activity tasks and getting to know other challengers. Who knew there was such a big Doctor Who and BBC Sherlock contingent in the challenge? (Because bowties, fez, and solving crimes are cool, of course.)
Hrm? Oh, you want to know when the Challenge is stopping? That’s still in a little bit of flux. But it’s probably safe to say that you’ll want to make sure you’ve gotten everything in, by, say, the end of the month. It might not stop then, but I wouldn’t give it much past that point as of right now. So make sure you snag all the points you can now, because soon enough, it will be too late!
