#artmuseum I went to the museum of glass and it was really cool. I got to watch them make glass and melt it down and shape it. It was really hot and I could feel the heat even though I was up on the steps. They also had all sorts of glass creations that were designed by kids (But made by proffessionals) my favorite was really cute. It was a…[Read more]

#thriller (an excerpt from the mystery novel I’m working on) A Certain Kind of Black Mail
Geek? Yes. Cowboy-freak? Not really. Those jerks from school didn’t need to rub it in my face what a loner I was, as if I didn’t already know. Ever since my family moved from rural San Louis Obispo, California to the dense streets of…[Read more] -

#petshelter A while ago my girl scout troop visited our local animal shelter and it was depressing. Any animals that weren’t adopted had to be put down. A lot of people just started crying and this wasn’t the pound this was the animal SHELTER. I wish that an animal shelter was just that, a place were animals could stay until adopted or if not…[Read more]

#animalcompanion Although I’m too young to volunteer for the Humane Society I wanted to volunteer there because when I was younger, my girl scout troop went there to go on a tour, learn about the animals there, and drop off some donations. By the end of the tour everyone was crying and shorly after we adopted two cats there for my birthday. It…[Read more]

#experiment I did an experiment on how sugar affects your test scores and the results were rather suprising. Apparently, (I wouldn’t try this) you do better on tests directly after you eat sugar. But, there is an issue with the validity of this experiment. Each trial, I gave the ‘subjects’ similar tests so they most likely did better the…[Read more]

how did you conduct your experiment. How much sugar did you give and in what form?
Who were your test subjects?
Did you have a control group?
-
Controlled Variables: the test they were given (consistent with the child), the subject of the test (math), the time the subject went to bed, time subject was given breakfast, what the subject had for breakfast, amount of sugar they were given (g), what form the sugar was in, date of testing, & workspace
My subject are to remain anonymus but…[Read more]

#animalcompanion I wanted to volunteer for the Humane Society in Tacoma but you have to be sixteen…

Really LAME!

Yeah, I agree

-
If you are too young to submit an application or the organization is currently full of volunteers, you can still complete this challenge by completing an application and commenting on the application process, perhaps describing why you would want to volunteer for the organization. It would be good if you could post a copy of the completed…[Read more]

#cooking I experimented a little with my mother’s raspberries from our garden and I found a very delicious snack. You will need: a bannana and fresh raspberries (and you might want a pinch of sugar or a sweetener if your raspberries are tart) and you might also want to peel the banana and wash the raspberries first
1.) cut the banana in half…[Read more]-
This sounds delicious! And I’m impressed that you created this dish on your own.

That isn’t weird. Its one of the best ways to learn something.

#sciencetv I watched Mythbusters in my living room and they were testing (in reality) if running in the rain or walking would get you less wet for 100m. For walking you only get your head and shoulders wet but you stay in the rain longer and for running you get out of the rain faster but your entire front side would get wet. Their tests proved…[Read more]
