I see at least 3 different types of trees

    • What a lovely place. Would you happen to know the names of these trees? The tall, dark green ones in the back look to be Douglas Firs, while the ones in front look deciduous– maybe alders?

yeah, I’m pretty sure that the ones in the front are alders, then there is the weeping willow on the right….there are some different Fir trees in the back along with some cedars.

My family and I took a walk around our neighborhood and through some areas without very many houses yesterday. I saw several native plants: Bleeding Hearts, Salmon Berry Blossoms(I saw those a little while ago), Daisies, Red Flowering Currents, and some purple bell shaped flowers. I also saw lots of Pansies that were planted. I…[Read more]

The Garden of Cosmic Speculation-this one is my favorite! it is a private garden in South West Scotland. It was inspired by science and mathematics and doesn’t have a lot of plants.

    • I wasn’t familiar with the Garden of Cosmic Speculation until your post. Just saw it online and WOW! It’s incredible– I can see why it’s your favorite. Thanks for sharing.

I read Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde a while ago. It was a good book but it wasn’t my favorite. It is about a doctor who drank a potion that made him have two sides to himself. It wasn’t my favorite book just because it didn’t seem to be super deep or complex and the style of writing just wasn’t my favorite.

I read the classic Frankenstein a while back and it was a really cool book. It was really creepy but doing it with a study guide really helped me to see that is wasn’t all about the horror and that there were some deeper meanings in some of the stuff. I also learned about the author, Mary Shelley’s, life. I could tell that a lot…[Read more]

I recently read the story, The Screwtape Letters. It is about a older demon writing to a younger demon on how to attack a Christian. It is a really good story with a lot of interesting points in it but it was a little hard to read. I went to see the play after I finished reading the book. It was really good and helped to clear up…[Read more]

It has action and romance. It was one of the first masked hero stories created. It is a wonderful story with an awesome ending! It is my favorite book ever!

The movie Alice is an amazing twist on Alice in Wonderland/Through the Looking Glass. When Alice get swept away to Wonderland it is a very different place then the typical Wonderland. This movie is very complex with lots of different aspects to it! I absolutely love it!

I picked a tiny strawberry from our garden but it was too small to make anything out of it so I also made a salad from lettuce and carrots we had in the fridge.
